Restore Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2025

1. Policy Purpose

This Restore Policy details the process, scope, and limitations for restoring website data from backups on Cloudiers LLC’s hosting services. Its purpose is to provide a clear and transparent guide for our customers.

This policy is a supplement to our main Backup Policy and Terms & Conditions.

2. Types of Restores

There are two methods for restoring your data:

  • A. Self-Service Restores (Recommended): We strongly encourage all customers to perform restores from their own backups. This is the fastest, most reliable, and most effective method to recover your data. You can restore from a backup you’ve created using your hosting control panel (e.g., cPanel) or a third-party backup solution (e.g., a WordPress plugin). You have full control over this process.
  • B. Assisted Restores (from Courtesy Backups): For customers who do not have their own backups, we offer an assisted restoration service from our internal Courtesy Backups (as defined in our Backup Policy). This service is provided on a best-effort basis and is subject to the terms and limitations outlined below.

3. How to Request an Assisted Restore

To request an assisted restore from our Courtesy Backups, you must follow this procedure:

  1. Submit a Formal Request: Send an email to our support team at info@cloudiers.com from the email address associated with your account.
  2. Provide Necessary Information: Your request must include:
    • Your primary domain name.
    • The date of the backup you wish to restore from.
    • A clear description of what needs to be restored (e.g., specific files, a database, or the entire account).
  3. Acknowledge and Approve Fees: Our team will confirm the availability of the requested backup and inform you of the applicable restoration fee. You must provide written approval of the fee before we will proceed with the restoration.

4. Restoration Fees

A one-time administrative fee applies to all assisted restore requests. This fee covers the manual labor required by a technician to locate, verify, and execute the restoration of your data from our backup servers. The current restoration fee will be quoted to you upon your request.

5. Scope and Limitations of Assisted Restores

Please read the following limitations carefully:

  • Best-Effort Service: All assisted restoration services are provided on a best-effort basis.
  • No Guarantee of Availability: As stated in our Backup Policy, our Courtesy Backups are not guaranteed. The backup you request may not be available or may be corrupted and unusable.
  • WARNING: Data Overwriting: A restoration will overwrite all current files and data on your account with the data from the backup point. Any changes made to your website after the backup date will be permanently lost. It is your responsibility to back up any current data before requesting a restore.
  • Scope of Restore: Restorations from our system typically involve the entire hosting account. We may not be able to perform partial restores (e.g., a single file or a single database table).

6. Estimated Timeframe

While most assisted restore requests are completed within 1-3 business days, the time required can vary depending on the size of your account and the complexity of the request. We do not provide a guaranteed timeframe for completion.

7. Limitation of Liability

Cloudiers LLC is not liable for any data loss, business interruption, lost profits, or other damages resulting from a data restoration or a failed restoration. The customer agrees that requesting an assisted restore is done at their own risk.
